About the Role

We are looking for a Consultant to join our Disputes & Valuations team in the London Risk Advisory practice. The role will involve providing expert witness evidence, forensic accounting, valuations, and investigative analysis for complex litigation, disputes, and investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a variety of litigation and investigation matters, including performing complete analysis of accounting issues and providing recommendations.
  • Investigate and trace the flow of funds between bank accounts.
  • Create financial models for loss calculations or business valuations.
  • Review and critically analyse sets of financial information (invoices, credit notes, accounting records, financial statements, budgets, projections) and test their veracity.
  • Compile and analyse facts to formulate, substantiate and critique damages theories, claims or conclusions.
  • Value businesses using a variety of valuation methodologies.
  • Organise documents and work papers, including preparing supporting materials for litigation, valuation and investigation reports.
  • Perform quality control reviews of your work and that of others.
  • Collaborate with eDiscovery and Litigation Data Analytics teams to build, handle, and interrogate large data sets.
  • Draft investigation and expert reports for clients.
  • Assist in coaching and mentoring junior staff.
  • Engage with solicitors, barristers, and clients.
  • Work with industry specialists.
  • Contribute to discussions in meetings.
  • Assist in practice development projects (internal training, presentations, marketing literature) as the business grows.

Qualifications

  • A recognised accountancy qualification such as the ACA or ACCA.
  • Minimum 4 years of accounting experience (audit, accounting, financial advisory or forensic accounting).
  • Degree qualified (2:1 or above).
  • Strong communication skills, written and spoken.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English (additional language advantageous).
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Able to produce clear and accurate written deliverables.
  • Willingness to learn to prepare financial models and cash‑flow analyses.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and make decisions.
  • Interest in networking socially.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a screen for significant portions of the workday.
