Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Pickering area
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:00am – 5:30pm
Contract: 40 hours per week
Salary: £19.70 per hour / £41,000

We are recruiting for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing business in the Pickering area, supporting the reliability and performance of plant and equipment across site. This is a hands‑on role focused on reactive breakdown response, planned preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across site equipment
  • Diagnose faults and complete mechanical and basic electrical repairs
  • Support plant rebuilds, installations and equipment upgrades
  • Welding and fabrication work as required
  • Manufacture or modify replacement parts using workshop machinery
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and documented through the CMMS system
  • Work collaboratively with production and wider site teams to minimise downtime

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment
  • Strong mechanical maintenance skills with some electrical competency
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable using maintenance systems and completing maintenance records
  • Flexible approach with willingness to support overtime when required

Desirable Skills

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Lathe and milling experience
  • 18th Edition electrical qualification
  • Experience with CAD or SolidWorks
  • Exposure to automation or robotic systems
