Account Director

This is a site-based role, with Cambridge as the primary location. Regular travel will be required across the wider UK portfolio, including sites in Macclesfield, Luton, London, Liverpool, and other key locations.

We are looking for an experienced and people-focused UK Account Director to lead a high-profile pharmaceutical account within a complex, multi-site environment.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, client engagement, innovation, and commercial growth across a diverse UK portfolio. The role oversees soft services including cleaning and logistics across multiple regulated and non-regulated environments.

The successful candidate will be a strong and credible leader with the ability to bring teams together, build cohesion across multiple sites, and lead people through transformation and growth. We are looking for someone with a collaborative leadership style who can create a high-performing culture while maintaining strong client relationships and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the UK account strategy in line with client and business objectives
  • Drive operational excellence, transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives across all UK sites
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams
  • Lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams across multiple locations
  • Create a strong team culture focused on collaboration, engagement, and shared success
  • Ensure high standards of compliance, quality, health & safety, and governance
  • Manage financial performance including P&L accountability and commercial growth
  • Work closely with central and global teams to ensure consistency in service delivery
  • Identify and support opportunities for innovation and organic growth within the account

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-site accounts with P&L responsibility of £20m+
  • Strong operational background within soft services, including cleaning and logistics
  • Experience operating within GMP or highly regulated environments, ideally pharma or life sciences
  • A strong people leader with a track record of building engaged, high-performing teams
  • Ability to unite teams across multiple locations and lead them through change and transformation
  • Commercially minded with strong financial and operational acumen
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Passionate about service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
