Job Summary
Are you passionate about Italian cuisine and ready to work with a talented team in a prestigious setting? The Arts Club, a hub of culinary excellence, is seeking a Senior Sous Chef to join our Ofelia Kitchen.
As Senior Sous Chef, you will play a key leadership role in the kitchen, ensuring exceptional food quality, operational efficiency, and food safety. This role demands strong culinary expertise, a hands-on approach to service, and a focus on team development, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily running of the kitchen, ensuring service is delivered efficiently across lunch, dinner, and late-night operations.
Lead and support the kitchen brigade, maintaining high performance, structure, and a positive working environment.
Ensure all sections are fully prepared, organised, and service-ready at all times.
Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, and timing during service.
Support the implementation of menus and seasonal changes in coordination with senior leadership.
Train, coach, and develop team members, monitoring performance and supporting progression.
Delegate tasks effectively and ensure accountability across all kitchen sections.
Conduct regular quality checks, including tasting dishes during service.
Ensure strict adherence to recipes, portion control, and presentation standards.
Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food handling.
Manage stock control processes, including ordering, storage, and rotation.
Monitor food costs, minimise waste, and support profitability targets.
Ensure full compliance with food safety, HACCP, and hygiene regulations.
Maintain accurate kitchen records and complete all required operational checks.
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Remain calm, organised, and effective under pressure.
Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by management.
