Technical Data Consultant – 3 Month ContractUp to £550 P/D Outside IR35Manchester – Hybrid (x2 days a week)

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established gambling and gaming organisation seeking a Technical Data Consultant to support a focused discovery and documentation engagement.

This is a hands-on contract for someone who enjoys stepping into complex, legacy-leaning data environments and making them understandable, supportable, and less reliant on individual knowledge.

  • Investigate and reverse-engineer live data platforms with limited documentation
  • Build a clear picture of the current-state data architecture and data flows
  • Review and document business-critical SQL and transformation logic
  • Produce practical operational documentation and runbooks
  • Work closely with long-tenured engineers to capture knowledge and reduce key-person risk

The focus is clarity, stability, and handover – not greenfield delivery or re-platforming.

What we're looking for
  • Strong experience in data discovery, platform recovery, or reverse-engineering work
  • Background as a Data Consultant, Data Architect, or similar
  • Solid knowledge of SQL / SQL Server and AWS-based data platforms
  • Comfortable creating architecture diagrams, data definitions, and operational guides
