Responsibilities of an Account Manager:

  • Grow revenue across existing accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Travel to see customers across the UK and Europe to meet clients and represent the business at industry exhibitions and events. (about once every 2 months
  • Build strong client relationships, supporting long-term account growth and uncovering additional commercial opportunities.
  • Prepare tailored proposals and quotations by reviewing customer requirements and pricing details.
  • Regularly meet with existing and prospective customers, while also supporting colleagues during client visits and presentations.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager on territory planning, customer engagement strategies, and stock planning requirements.
  • Keep CRM records up to date to track customer activity, pipeline progress, market trends, and future opportunities.
  • Manage the quotation and order process accurately, ensuring all associated documentation is completed correctly.
  • Share insights on competitor activity, market trends, pricing movements, and potential growth areas with the wider team.
  • Assist with sales forecasting and provide additional support to the Sales Manager where required.
  • Support and encourage colleagues to help drive team performance and achieve collective objectives.

Requirements on an Account Manager:

  • Previous experience within metals, engineering, industrial, or manufacturing sectors would be highly beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong customer relationships and grow revenue across both existing and new accounts.
  • Confident building long-term business partnerships, with a personable approach and willingness to travel to meet clients.
  • Eager to take the next step in their career, with the ambition to develop leadership and people management skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative sales environment and enjoys working towards targets and shared goals.
