Support Worker – Make Every Day Matter

Birchwood House | Lincoln

Full-time | 37.5 hours per week

Shift Patterns

  • Days: Early 7:00am–3:00pm and/or Late 3:00pm–10:00pm (generally expected to work a mixture)

  • Nights: 9:30pm– 7:30am

Please note: Sponsorship is not available

Salary

Enhanced Complex Unit Rates:

  • £13.00 per hour (starting rate)

  • £13.10 per hour on completion of the paid-for Care Certificate

  • £13.20 per hour on completion of a Level 2 NVQ

About Birchwood House

Birchwood House, part of Glenholme Healthcare, is a purpose-built, high-intensity specialist service in Lincoln supporting adults with profound and severe learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs, including behaviours that may challenge.

We deliver bespoke, person-centred care using a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model, focusing on improving quality of life, communication, and independence.

The service has been carefully designed to create a calm, low-arousal environment and includes:

  • Four one-bedroom apartments and four studio apartments

  • Low-arousal interiors to reduce sensory overload

  • Two communal dayrooms

  • A landscaped communal garden

  • A fully equipped sensory room

You will support individuals with a range of needs, including:

  • Severe and profound learning disabilities

  • Autism spectrum conditions

  • Communication difficulties

  • Complex physical, emotional, and behavioural support needs

Your Role as a Complex Care Support Worker

As a Support Worker, you will help individuals live as independently and confidently as possible. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing companionship and emotional support

  • Delivering personal care in a respectful, person-centred way

  • Teaching independent living skills

  • Supporting with medication

  • Supporting people to access the community, including swimming, social activities, hobbies, and days out

  • Encouraging new interests and life experiences

  • Supporting with household tasks, budgeting, and shopping

You will be a valued professional, working as part of a skilled and caring team.
