Behaviour Support Assistant – Alternative ProvisionLocation: Hull | Full Time | Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education Hull are currently looking to appoint a proactive and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to work within an alternative provision setting on a full-time basis.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who face barriers to learning due to Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The provision offers a structured and nurturing environment, focused on re-engaging learners, promoting positive behaviour, and supporting both academic and personal development.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored lessons and intervention strategies
  • Support the implementation of behaviour management plans
  • Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour effectively
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to encourage engagement
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and pastoral teams

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour is desirable
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
  • Relevant qualifications or training (e.g., Team Teach, PMVA) are advantageous
