Location: Commutable from Edinburgh, Livingston, Falkirk and Hamilton (Surrounding Areas)


Salary: Circa £40,000 – £41,000, rising to £46,000 – £48,000 after 3 months


Shift Pattern: 3-Shift Rotation (Moving to 4 on, 4 off Continental Shifts after training)


First Achieve Engineering Recruitment team are assisting in recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a leading manufacturing business. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled maintenance team responsible for keeping a world-class manufacturing facility running at peak performance.


Following an initial three‑month training period on a rotating Monday to Friday shift pattern, you’ll transition onto a4 on, 4 off continental shift pattern, increasing your salary to circa £46,000 – £48,000 per annum.


The Role


As part of the maintenance team, you’ll carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across a wide range of manufacturing equipment, helping to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.


Key Responsibilities



  • Carry out planned, preventative and reactive electrical maintenance.

  • Diagnose faults and respond quickly to equipment breakdowns.

  • Maintain and repair forging presses, furnaces, CNC machinery and plant equipment.

  • Support electrical installations, testing and commissioning activities.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve electrical faults.


What We’re Looking For



  • Time‑served Electrician with City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent.

  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.

  • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.

  • Experience carrying out preventative maintenance and electrical installations.

  • Knowledge of safe working practices and electrical regulations.

  • Good IT and communication skills.

  • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces when required.

  • Experience with medium‑voltage distribution systems is advantageous.
