We are supporting a global healthcare organisation on a specialist security engagement focused on genomic data. This is a highly sensitive and emerging area of healthcare where existing security standards are not sufficient.

They are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Architect to define the security blueprint for protecting genomic data long-term. This is a design-only role, focused on producing a structured architecture and justification for future implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define a target-state security architecture for genomic data
  • Develop a domain-level threat model for genomic data and associated risks
  • Identify why current security standards are not sufficient for this data type
  • Design tokenisation and privacy-preserving security approaches
  • Define the operating model (people, process, technology) for secure handling
  • Outline monitoring and control requirements
  • Produce clear architectural documentation and security guidance

Experience Required

  • Senior Cyber Security Architect experience in complex environments
  • Background in securing highly sensitive, identity-linked or national-scale datasets
  • Experience in government, public sector, healthcare, or similar environments preferred
  • Strong ability to define security models from first principles in ambiguous domains
  • Experience with threat modelling and security architecture (at a conceptual level)
  • Comfortable working closely with senior security leadership rather than broad stakeholder groups

Additional Information

  • No implementation or delivery responsibility
  • Minimal stakeholder engagement – primarily working with senior security leadership
  • Highly specialised, design-focused engagement in a new and emerging domain
