Location: Altrincham, WA14 5UW – hybrid working (2 days office / 3 days home after an initial office-based onboarding period)

Hours: Full-time, Mon-Fri, 9:00-17:00

We’re looking for a commercially minded FP&A Analyst to join our growing Finance team in a newly created role.

Reporting directly into the Financial Controller, this position will play a key role in strengthening the business’ forecasting, budgeting, modelling and analytical capability, helping drive more informed, data‑led decision making across the firm.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys working across both commercial finance and analytics, whilst partnering closely with stakeholders across the wider business.

Alongside strong FP&A capability, we’re particularly interested in individuals with strong Power BI experience who can help further develop our reporting and dashboard capability. Whilst we actively utilise modern AI tools such as Claude to support modelling and dashboard development, it’s important this individual understands what ‘good’ looks like technically and can confidently challenge, refine and build upon outputs where required.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead on budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes across the business
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to support strategic and operational decision making
  • Produce rolling forecasts, scenario analysis and sensitivity modelling
  • Analyse financial performance, trends and variances, providing clear commentary and actionable insight
  • Support the Financial Controller with longer‑term financial planning and commercial analysis

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve Power BI dashboards and reporting capabilities
  • Produce insightful management information focused on key commercial and operational drivers
  • Work with large datasets to identify trends, opportunities and risks across the business
  • Support automation and continuous improvement of reporting processes and data utilisation
  • Utilise AI‑enabled tools, including Claude, to support dashboarding, modelling and analytical output where appropriate

Business Partnering

  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to improve forecasting accuracy and financial understanding
  • Build strong relationships with departmental managers to gather commercial insight and challenge assumptions where required
  • Support budgeting owners with analysis, reporting and financial decision making
  • Assist with evaluating new initiatives, commercial opportunities and investment proposals

Strategic & Ad Hoc Support

  • Support the Financial Controller with strategic projects and business initiatives
  • Assist with board‑level reporting and analysis where required
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and controls
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and commercial insight as business needs evolve

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for someone who combines strong commercial finance capability with a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Minimum 2 years’ post‑qualified experience within FP&A, commercial finance, finance business partnering or a similar analytical finance role
  • Strong experience in forecasting, budgeting and financial modelling
  • Strong Power BI experience, including building and maintaining dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Strong Excel and data analysis capability
  • Comfortable working within a broad role in a growing business environment
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence where appropriate
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Experience partnering with non‑finance stakeholders across the wider business
  • Exposure to automation, AI‑enabled tools or data‑driven finance transformation
  • Experience developing advanced Power BI measures, reporting models or dashboard functionality

What You’ll Get in Return:

  • Newly created position with genuine scope to influence the role from day one and the opportunity to help build and enhance the business’ forecasting, reporting and analytical capability
  • High visibility position working closely with senior leadership and contributing to key commercial decisions
  • Investment in modern technology and AI‑enabled tools, including Claude, to support smarter and more efficient ways of working
  • A business that values innovation and is open to evolving how finance supports the wider organisation
  • Hybrid working environment because we recognise the importance of work/life balance
  • Supportive and collaborative finance team within a growing business at an exciting stage of its journey
  • Opportunity to specialise in a more technical, project‑based legal cashiering position
  • Long‑term development opportunities – including study support options (employer‑funded after 12‑months)
  • 25 days AL + Bank Holidays, with buy/carry over options
  • Employee benefits: death in service, healthcare plan, EAP, counselling, and salary sacrifice
  • Extras: free conveyancing, mortgage advice, staff discounts, free under service to/from Navigation Road station and our office

At PLS Solicitors, we combine legal expertise with technology to create smarter, more efficient ways of working. As a tech‑led conveyancing firm, we’re continually investing in systems, innovation, and people who can help us improve and evolve.

We specialise in conveyancing, the legal process behind buying and selling property, helping clients move home through a streamlined, technology‑driven service. With a strong focus on efficiency, collaboration, and continuous improvement, we’re building a modern law firm where people can develop, contribute, and make a genuine impact.
