Location: Hybrid and in London or York
Working Pattern: 3 days per week in-office

The Role

A major UK infrastructure organisation is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to play a pivotal role within a high-profile rail programme.

This is a commercially critical position acting as the bridge between day-to-day supplier performance and long-term strategic partnerships across a complex supply chain.

You'll operate at the heart of a regulated environment, influencing commercial outcomes, managing risk, and ensuring value delivery across both internal and third-party funded activities.

  • Acting as the key commercial interface between tactical supplier management and strategic supply chain partnerships
  • Navigating and advising within a regulated, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Supporting and evaluating procurement activity across varied funding models
  • Managing cost control, forecasting, and financial profiling
  • Leading risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies
  • Contributing to programme and schedule management from a commercial perspective
  • Differentiating and managing standard post-contract procurement vs. externally funded delivery activities

Requirements

  • Strong experience in commercial management within infrastructure or regulated sectors
  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes and commercial frameworks
  • Experience with cost management, forecasting, and financial governance
  • Demonstrable capability in risk evaluation and programme delivery support
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to influence at senior levels
