The OpportunityThis is a unique opportunity for a graduate or early-career professional to apply their data, systems, and problem-solving skills in a live operational environment.
Unlike traditional technical roles, this position sits at the intersection of:
- Data & reporting
- Process improvement
- Automation & systems
- Emerging AI tools
You will work directly with operational teams to improve how work flows across the business, building practical solutions that have a visible impact on efficiency, quality, and role will initially be offered on a contract (day-rate/hourly basis), with a clear opportunity to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesData & Reporting
- Work with operational data to analyse performance and support decision-making
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards (Excel / Power BI or similar)
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity
Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies in existing workflows and propose improvements
- Support the redesign of processes to improve visibility, tracking, and flow
- Help standardise reporting and operational practices
Systems & Automation
- Develop simple tools, automations, or workflows to reduce manual activity
- Use platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform or similar tools
- Support system enhancements and change initiatives
AI & Digital Innovation
- Explore practical use of AI tools (e.g. Copilot, automation tools) to improve processes
- Assist in introducing AI-assisted solutions to enhance productivity and insight
- Stay curious and proactive in identifying opportunities to apply new technologies
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with non-technical teams to understand real-world challenges
- Translate business problems into practical solutions
- Communicate clearly and effectively with a range of stakeholders
What We're Looking ForEssential
- A degree in Computer Science, Data, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confidence working with data and Excel (pivot tables, data manipulation)
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas clearly
- A proactive, curious mindset with a desire to learn
Desirable
- Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, or similar tools
- Exposure to data analysis, reporting, or process improvement
- Awareness or practical use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot)
- Basic programming or scripting experience (e.g. Python)
