Wood Machinist
Pay: £18.00 per hour
Location: Carrickfergus
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am 1:00pm
Role Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Wood Machinist to join their workshop team in Carrickfergus. This is a hands-on role involving the machining and preparation of timber products to precise specifications within a busy production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating wood machining equipment (e.g. saws, planers, spindle moulders)
- Machining timber to required sizes and finishes
- Reading and working from technical drawings and cutting lists
- Setting up and adjusting machinery for different production runs
- Ensuring quality control and accuracy of finished products
- Carrying out routine maintenance and basic machine checks
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Adhering to all health and safety procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Wood Machinist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of timber machining processes and machinery
- Ability to read technical drawings and measurements accurately
- Good attention to detail and quality standards
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Awareness of workshop health and safety practices
