The role
We are seeking an experienced employment taxes leader to head our Employment Taxes team. This is a strategic leadership role, with responsibility for growing and developing a high-quality, outward-facing practice within a mid-tier firm environment. The role can be filled at Partner level, or Director with a clear pathway to Partner.
The responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Employment Taxes team, setting strategy, driving performance and developing team members
- Grow the team to a size more aligned with the firm's broader scale and client base
- Drive cross-selling of employment tax services to audit, corporate tax and wider advisory clients
- Build a strong external profile and develop the team into a market-facing function that generates its own work
- Provide high-quality technical advice on all aspects of employment tax, including PAYE, benefits, employment status and compliance
- Oversee delivery of compliance and advisory work, ensuring quality, risk management and timely delivery
- Support and develop team capability across global mobility and share scheme work, working with specialists where required
- Contribute to wider firm strategy, leadership and culture as a senior member of the business
The team
The Employment Taxes team provides a mix of compliance and advisory services across a diverse client base.
The team currently includes support for global mobility and share scheme work, with opportunities to further strengthen these capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to shape and scale the team into a leading offering within the firm.
You
- Significant experience in employment taxes within a professional services environment
- Strong technical grounding across employment taxes, including advisory and compliance
- Demonstrable leadership experience, including managing and developing teams
- Commercially driven, with a track record of winning work and building client relationships
- Ability to collaborate effectively across service lines and drive cross-selling initiatives
- A strategic mindset, with the ability to identify and execute growth opportunities
- Professional qualification such as CTA, ACA or equivalent

A 35 hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10-4).
