Ever wondered what actually goes on behind the scenes of a financial services business? The processes, the people, the moving parts that make it all work? Well, now's your chance to find out – and get paid to learn. You could join our ever-growing team at Verve and our sister companies, picking up a wide range of operational skills and springboarding yourself into a rewarding career in financial services, right here in the North East.

About our graduate programme.

In all of our trainee and graduate roles, we always start with the basics first – it’s the best foundation for success. This means getting grounded in financial services and understanding the billion‑pound UK sector, the importance of sound financial advice, and how businesses like ours operate.

From there, you’ll move into your specialist area with real work, real responsibility, and a team around you to support your development. We know that most people don’t often know exactly where they want to end up – and that’s fine. This programme is designed to grow with you.

About the role.

This is an operational generalist role sitting at the heart of our businesses. You’ll get exposure to a wide variety of functions – from client administration and process management through to project support – working across teams to keep things running smoothly.

It’s a role where no two days are the same and where curiosity and initiative are rewarded. Over time, the position will be shaped around where your strengths lie, as we build out new departments and identify the best fit for you.

What you’ll be doing.

  • Supporting day-to-day operational processes across a range of internal teams.
  • Helping to manage client records, data and correspondence with accuracy and care.
  • Getting involved in process improvements as we build and refine new departments.
  • Working with colleagues across compliance, paraplanning and client services to understand how the businesses fit together.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks that underpin the delivery of financial advice.
  • Using a range of internal systems and tools, including AI‑powered platforms, to support your work.
  • Attending team meetings and contributing to wider business projects as directed.

About you.

These are the key skills and attributes we are looking for:

  • An ability to quickly learn new knowledge.
  • A willingness to study and learn in addition to the on the job training.
  • Extremely comfortable with AI, but not dependent solely on it.
  • Honest, diligent and with an extremely high attention to detail and quality.
  • A confident manner, comfortable talking to new people, whether face to face or on the phone and able to quickly build relationships.

In return, we ask for our colleagues to:

  • Do a top quality job (we're not the place for people seeking to do the bare minimum).
  • Be a nice person (we champion a positive workplace).

The rest of it, we can train you on!

Our starting salary is at least £24,800 with a general holiday entitlement, pension contributions, hybrid working (upon sign‑off of probation) and a huge amount of potential future growth.
