Join City of York Council’s Corporate Transformation team and help shape how vital public services are designed and delivered. You’ll sit at the heart of a high‑profile programme of change, working with service leaders and teams across the organisation to uncover the real business problem, remove barriers for residents and colleagues, and turn insight into practical, sustainable solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Quality‑assure and strengthen analysis outputs produced by a small team of Business Analysts, coaching and advising them to consistently apply best practice throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead your own analysis work, including planning and estimating activities.
  • Facilitate workshops, map end‑to‑end processes, analyse data, and apply service improvement and business process re‑engineering approaches to design new ways of working, clearer business rules and stronger specifications.
  • Work confidently in complex, fast‑moving environments, build trusted relationships, influence without direct authority, and communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong business analysis experience, including requirements elicitation, process and customer journey mapping, estimating and planning.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and drive meaningful change.
  • Experience in high‑profile change programmes and a proven track record of influencing and coaching teams.
