We are pleased to present a strategic opportunity for a Commercial IP Partner to join a well-established London law firm as part of its next phase of growth.
IP Partner – London – Salary Up To £175k
The Firm
The firm has an existing Commercial and IP capability and is now seeking a senior lawyer to lead the strategic growth of the practice and shape the future of the department.
This opportunity would suit either an established Partner with a portable following, or a Senior Associate / Legal Director ready to step into Partnership with a demonstrable client following.
This London-based firm combines strong domestic credentials with access to a substantial international legal network, offering seamless cross-border capability across Europe and beyond.
The firm operates with an entrepreneurial mindset, collaborative culture and high-quality client base. Leadership is committed to investing in growth areas, and Commercial IP has been identified as a key strategic priority.
The role offers genuine autonomy, long-term equity progression, and the backing of a fully integrated international network platform.
The Role
The appointed Partner will:
- Lead and develop the Commercial IP function
- Advise on commercial contracts with a strong IP and data protection focus
- Drive growth in focus sectors, including Med Tech, Healthcare and tech
- Develop international relationships through the firm’s global network
- Mentor the existing team
- Lead business development strategy and client targeting initiatives
This is an opportunity to take on a genuine build-and-shape project, with full leadership support and strategic backing.
The Candidate
The appointed Partner will have:
- Strong experience in Commercial Contracts, IP and Data Protection
- A following of approximately £400k+
- Background from a reputable City or international firm
- International experience and cross-border exposure
- Proven business development capability
- Leadership potential and desire to grow a team
Sector experience within private medical technology, healthcare, life sciences or technology will be highly advantageous.
Language skills (Italian or Spanish) would be a significant bonus but are not essential.
