We're hiring for a Mechanical Engineer to join the engineering team on a large, high‑profile science and research campus in Stevenage.
The Mechanical Engineer will support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical building services systems within a technical environment. The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of a multi-skilled team, ensuring all plant and equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities for a Mechanical Engineer
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
- Working on mechanical plant including AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, valves and HVAC systems
- Supporting heating, cooling and ventilation systems across the site
- Fault finding and carrying out first‑line repairs on building services plant
- Ensuring plant rooms are maintained to a high standard
- Completing all works in line with health & safety and compliance requirements
Requirements
- Experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within building services or FM
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical plant
- Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent)
- Experience working within commercial, industrial or technical environments
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures
