£60,000 – £65,000 DOE + Bonus & Benefits

Location: Reading

Hours 42.5 – 6am – 10pm, Monday to Friday with call out Techs.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Depot Manager to lead a busy commercial vehicle aftersales operation. This role is ideal for a strong leader with main dealer workshop experience who can drive performance, develop teams, and deliver exceptional customer service within a fast-paced environment. You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the depot, overseeing both the service and parts departments while ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and profitability across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the overall aftersales operation
  • Drive profitability across service and parts departments
  • Improve workshop efficiency, productivity, and staff utilisation
  • Assist with budgeting and financial performance alongside senior management
  • Ensure full Health & Safety compliance across the depot
  • Lead recruitment, development, and performance management of staff
  • Maintain high customer service standards and exceed client expectations
  • Implement training and development plans for all depot employees
  • Ensure the premises are maintained to a high operational standard
  • Monitor warranty and contract processes effectively
  • Resolve invoice-related queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Support business development activities and identify growth opportunities
  • Participate in operational improvement initiatives and performance campaigns

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience within a Main Dealer commercial vehicle environment
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
  • IT literate with experience using workshop/dealer systems
  • Full UK driving licence required

Desirable Experience

  • HGV licence
  • Experience working with commercial vehicle brands
  • Knowledge of dealer management systems
