Role/Team overview

This role sits in a business-critical domain responsible for application distribution and orchestration across the Sky Europe estate, reaching tens of millions of customer devices. The team is shaping a modern, aligned capability across Comcast, Sky and Comcast syndication partners globally, with a focus on scalable platforms, reliable delivery and strong engineering ownership.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and deliver excellent quality software at high scale
  • Participate in the full software lifecycle, including support and continuous integration
  • Contribute to the technical direction of the team
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to other developers on the team
  • Share and generate new ideas, provide constructive and useful feedback to peers
  • Work with internal Sky teams, external vendors and colleagues in Comcast in the US

What you’ll bring

  • Commercial experience with at least one modern programming language
  • Experience building and supporting production software systems
  • Experience with code review, automated testing, debugging and continuous integration
  • Proven ability to write maintainable, performant and well-structured code
  • Experience working with and continuously improving CI/CD in an agile team
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn across the stack

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience with Go or TypeScript
  • Experience with AWS cloud services and serverless architectures
  • Experience with containers, Kubernetes or infrastructure as code
  • Experience with MySQL or similar relational databases
  • Experience working with observability and operational tooling
  • Experience with solution design
