Business Development Manager – Capital Machinery

UK & Ireland (National Role)

Up to £65,000 Basic + Uncapped Commission + Car / Allowance

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a highly respected engineering manufacturer within the packaging machinery sector, known for delivering high-performance, low-failure equipment with an outstanding reputation across the market.

Part of a wider international group with a turnover of circa £50 million, the business continues to grow through innovation, product quality, and long-term customer partnerships.

The Role

This is a true new business role focused on developing and winning customers across the UK & Ireland.

You will manage opportunities across two key areas:

  • Fast‑paced sales – turning around smaller quotes (£10k‑£50k) quickly and efficiently
  • Capital equipment projects – managing larger, more complex sales cycles with procurement and senior stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and convert new business opportunities
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospect to close
  • Produce accurate and timely quotations
  • Handle both short‑cycle and long‑cycle sales processes
  • Attend customer meetings, demonstrations, and industry events
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline to exceed targets

The Candidate

We are looking for a driven, commercially focused sales professional with experience in machinery or capital equipment sales.

You will:

  • Have a proven track record in new business development
  • Be confident selling technical solutions and ROI
  • Be highly self‑motivated and target‑driven
  • Be comfortable managing both quick wins and longer‑term deals
