This is an exciting opportunity to work in our SME Business Banking segment where you’ll engage with our existing and prospective customers to help them realise their ambitions. As a Relationship Manager, your key goal will be to operate as a person of influence to customers with a turnover of between £2m and £15m and ensure you deliver world‑class customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an existing portfolio of 50-70 clients, focussing on growing the business sustainably by identifying opportunities to expand the portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC’s extensive network.
  • Serve as an ambassador for HSBC by developing the bank’s profile in the local business and wider community.
  • Support customers – putting their needs at the forefront of all we do, and setting world‑class standards.
  • Identify new business opportunities and nurture existing relationships.
  • Build relationships with local professionals and business owners who can introduce new clients and opportunities.
  • Adhere to structures and processes in place for the management of credit, operational, reputation, financial crime, and regulatory risk.
  • Collaborate with product partners to assess needs of international and domestic customers and offer appropriate solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in Business/Corporate Banking or Financial Services.
  • Relationship or client management experience with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Business development skills with a track record of account expansion and winning new business.
  • Commercial lending skills and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and share information in a clear, concise and accurate way.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management.
  • A full driving licence to attend face‑to‑face meetings with customers across Norfolk.
