We are seeking an experienced and highly organised ReceptionTeam Lead to support the front-of-house operations of our busy GP surgery. Thisis a pivotal role within the practice, ensuring patients receive aprofessional, efficient, and compassionate service while leading and supportinga dedicated reception team.
Main duties of the job
- Lead, supervise, and support the reception team to deliver high-quality patient care and service
- Oversee daily reception operations, ensuring smooth appointment booking, patient flow and maximising appointments.
- Monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve administrative processes
- Train, mentor, and induct new and existing reception staff
- Ensure compliance with practice policies, including confidentiality, safeguarding, data protection, H&S and CQC.
- Work closely with senior clinical and administrative staff to support effective service delivery
- Maintain morale communication and workforce efficiency levels

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the daily operation of the reception area, including appointment booking, patient arrivals, and telephone management
- Support efficient patient flow and ensure optimal use of appointment capacity

- Train, mentor, and induct new and existing reception staff
- Conduct regular checkins to support staff performance, wellbeing, and development

- Previous experience working within a GP surgery (essential)

- Proficient IT skills, including experience with patient management systems
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Experience using clinical systems such as SystmOne
- Knowledge of NHS processes and procedures
