Responsibilities
- Support students aged 2–19 across both primary and secondary provisions
- Help young people who may struggle with emotional regulation, behaviour, or social interaction
- Provide consistent mentoring and positive role modelling throughout the school day
- Work alongside teachers and SEN professionals to implement tailored support strategies
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement with learning
- Help maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Adapt your approach depending on individual needs
Ideal Candidate
- Kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
- Calm and resilient, with strong emotional intelligence
- Confident building relationships with students with additional needs
- Able to problem solve and take initiative
- Aware of safeguarding responsibilities within education
- Eligible to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
Previous experience working with children, youth work, care, or support roles is beneficial but not essential for this Gloucester-based opportunity.
