Senior Specialist Scientist – Hydrogeologist
Full‑time, permanent position.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual models based on hydrogeological data including ground investigation, pumping tests, and monitoring.
- Conduct groundwater risk and impact assessments for groundwater resources and quality.
- Develop and apply numerical groundwater modelling of flows and pollutant fate and transport.
- Provide expert specialist evidence and advice on complex groundwater issues to internal and external customers.
- Manage groundwater projects and deliver technical direction supporting regulatory actions, water scarcity incident management, and monitoring reporting.
Qualifications
- Degree in an appropriate scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience with groundwater impact and risk assessments, including quantitative modelling for resource management.
- Experience designing and interpreting ground investigation, pumping tests, and monitoring, including health, safety and environmental considerations.
- Effective project management skills with experience mentoring and developing staff.
- Excellent communication skills to translate complex hydrogeological concepts for non‑technical stakeholders and the public.
- Full UK driving licence.
