Role Overview

UWC International is seeking a Senior Philanthropy Lead (USA) to advance major‑gifts fundraising and strategic philanthropic engagement across the United States. The role is UK‑based with regular travel to the United States, but we are open to exploring a U.S. base for the right candidate. You will lead the cultivation of a high‑value donor portfolio, secure transformational gifts, and build long‑term, trust‑based relationships with individuals, foundations, and partners who share our vision.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead major‑gift fundraising strategy and execution in the U.S.
• Identify, engage and steward high‑level donors, turning ambition into measurable results.
• Build and maintain a portfolio of large donors, partners and foundations.
• Collaborate closely with UWC‑USA in Montezuma, New Mexico, national committees and dedicated supporters to unlock new opportunities for impact.
• Work with UK‑based executive leadership to advance key priorities, including the UWC Global Endowment and the 2030 Strategy.
• Represent UWC International at events, meetings and partner engagements to strengthen visibility and influence in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in major‑gift or advanced development, preferably within the U.S. fundraising landscape.
• Demonstrated track record of securing high‑value gifts and cultivating long‑term donor relationships.
• Strong strategic thinking, creativity and the ability to translate strategy into action and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders and boards.
• Willingness to travel regularly to the U.S. and accommodate flexible working arrangements.
