Position Overview
Salary: S3, scale points 21 – S4, scale point 25, depending on experience. FTE: £29,084 – £31,966, ACTUAL: £24,904.60 – £27,372.45.
Location: St Dominic’s School, Hambledon, near Godalming, Surrey, GU8 4DX.
Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, term‑time only, hours negotiable around core office hours of 8:30am – 4:30pm.
St Dominic’s School is a highly regarded special school in Surrey, catering to pupils and Sixth Form students aged 7 to 19 with a diverse range of academic abilities and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Raising requisitions in Financial Live (training provided).
- Assisting the Receptionist with receiving and checking off deliveries against requisitions.
- Matching purchase orders, requisitions and delivery notes.
- Completing new supplier forms.
- Completing budget panel and Value for Money forms in consultation with the Finance Manager.
- Entering petty cash claims into spreadsheets and scanning receipts.
- Maintaining Free School Meals records.
- Administering the ParentPay system, recording amounts due and arranging necessary credits (training provided).
- Understanding and working within the Trust’s Financial Procedures.
- Liaising with the central finance team to resolve purchase‑ordering queries.
- Dealing with petty cash claims, ensuring correct paperwork, reimbursing staff and submitting claims on the finance system.
Key Requirements
- Good literacy and numeracy skills: GCSE (A‑C) or equivalent in mathematics and English.
- Training and/or qualification in administration/clerical or related activities at level 2, and working towards level 3.
- Ability to present information in a logical, clear and concise format and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Willingness and ability to learn new systems and skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
