This is a hands-on Contracts Manager position focused primarily on residential groundworks delivery.
You will be responsible for managing multiple live housing sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
Typical works include:
Plot foundations and drainage
Roads and sewers (S278 / S38)
External works and infrastructure
Full groundworks packages on housing developments
Contracts Manager Key responsibilities:
Overseeing multiple residential groundworks sites simultaneously
Managing Site Managers, Engineers and site teams
Driving programme delivery and site performance
Ensuring high standards of health & safety and quality
Liaising directly with housebuilders and developers
Managing subcontractors, labour and plant
Supporting commercial teams with variations, cost control and forecasting
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Contracts Manager Requirements:
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within groundworks
Strong residential groundworks experience is essential
Background working on housing developments
Experience managing multiple live sites
Strong leadership and organisational skills
Good commercial awareness
SMSTS (or equivalent) preferred
