Clearance: Eligible for BPSS

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Security Architect to define, govern, and assure enterprise-wide cyber security architecture across IT, cloud, OT, and emerging technology domains. Acting as a strategic design authority, you will align security architecture with business objectives, cyber strategy, and enterprise architecture principles.

This is a strategic, non-operational role focused on influencing design, setting direction, and providing architectural guidance rather than hands‑on delivery or BAU security operations.

Key Responsibilities

Security Strategy & Advisory

  • Shape and evolve cyber security strategy and domain‑specific sub‑strategies (e.g. AI, identity, OT security, micro‑segmentation)
  • Provide expert guidance to programmes and stakeholders on security and technology decisions
  • Contribute to governance forums, including AI and digital strategy discussions

Architecture & Standards

  • Define and maintain cyber security reference architectures, standards, and design patterns
  • Ensure alignment across cloud, enterprise IT, and OT environments
  • Oversee application portfolio management and security architecture governance

Design Governance & Risk

  • Act as a security authority within design and investment boards
  • Provide risk‑based architectural assessments and trade‑off decisions
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and risk appetite

Enterprise Architecture Leadership

  • Lead cyber security input into the wider Enterprise Architecture function
  • Contribute to EA governance, forums, and thought leadership (e.g. white papers)

Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal teams across IT, OT, and business domains
  • Engage with strategic vendors and advisory partners to inform roadmap decisions

Community & Leadership

  • Support cyber awareness initiatives and internal communities
  • Mentor and contribute to organisational security culture and best practices

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Security Architect or Enterprise Security Architect
  • Strong background in enterprise, cloud, and OT security architecture
  • Experience operating within governance frameworks and design authorities
  • Ability to translate business risk into architectural direction
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
