Job Summary

Senior Project Manager responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and ensuring overall performance of assigned packages. Leads and coordinates with all relevant parties to understand and deliver project objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing day-to-day management and leadership of the project and the project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and report to the Area Lead, managing the strategy and delivery of a large part of the programme.
  • Coordinate construction, design, procurement, and commercial departments to ensure subcontractors can progress work on site according to the schedule.
  • Oversee project timeframes and budgets, highlight risks and challenges, and implement mitigations.
  • Prepare and modify project plans, keeping them updated throughout the project.
  • Ensure client requirements are met and all quality, assurance, and compliance documentation is provided in a timely manner.
  • Lead successful delivery of projects in line with stakeholder expectations, communicating strategies to the wider client/consultant/contractor team.
  • Monitored works to achieve first‑time workmanship, conduct lessons‑learnt reviews, and maintain daily records.
  • Support construction team with technical and engineering aspects, including method statements, ITPs, construction processes, engineering specifications, set‑outs, and quality control.
  • Promote and implement best practice and safety initiatives across all design and site delivery activities.
  • Directly responsible for all support functions from a project perspective and work with Function Leads to ensure sufficient subject matter expert support.
  • Develop and manage effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure requirements are identified, assessed, and integrated into the project.
  • Supervise and develop a high‑performing team striving for quality, safety, cost, and schedule improvements.
  • Coordinate, plan, and manage internal and external meetings concerning the project.
  • Drive procurement of services and works required to deliver the project.
  • Manage overall client interaction and relationship.
  • Prepare short‑form and long‑form reports outlining progress, actual cost, forecast, and highlight any problems and issues for resolution.
  • Promote and deliver a collaborative environment throughout the team and supply chain.
  • Develop and manage readiness planning for commencing works, ensuring all control measures are in place before activities commence.
  • Assist a high‑performing team through the setting of clear SMART targets and performance management processes.
  • Carry out investigations into accidents or incidents that occur on site and report findings to the Area Lead and Project Director.
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise and guidance to support project success.
  • Produce design and authorities programme to be integrated with procurement and delivery programme.
  • Determine and assemble project team resources, including external specialist appointments and recruitment of new staff.

Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Proven budgetary oversight expertise.
  • Proven proficiency in coordinating activities and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Proven understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
  • Proven problem‑solving and analytical skills across estimating, scheduling, contracts administration, procurement, and financial controls.
  • Proven technical expertise in HSE (or local equivalent) rules and regulations.
  • Able to operate at the highest level of compliance.
  • Leads others effectively, gives clear direction, and supports others to reach their full potential.

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience

  • MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE (or local equivalent).
  • Relevant experience as a Project Manager.
  • Experience in the successful construction delivery phase of projects and programmes.
  • Demonstrable evidence of deep project management expertise.
  • Tertiary qualification in a related degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Appropriate Construction Skills Certification Scheme card (or equivalent local safety certification).
