Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Head of Healthcare to join our team working across HMP New Hall and HMP Askham Grange. HMP New Hall is a closed category prison and HMP Askham Grange is an open prison, both for females.

Hours

This is a part‑time role working 18.75 hours per week. We are looking for someone to work between Monday and Friday; specific hours to be discussed at interview.

Salary

Annual salary up to £55,944 per annum (full time equivalent) depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding evidence‑based care to our patients by seeking out, listening to and acting on feedback so that patient engagement is at the centre of service delivery.
  • Provide day‑to‑day operational service delivery and data with integrity, in a timely manner to meet commissioner expectations.
  • Deliver non‑judgemental, compassionate care within the financial framework that is safe, high quality and in line with CQC requirements.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures and comply with statutory responsibilities whilst driving excellence.
  • Inspire trust and excellence in your people by proactively leading the service and motivating the team, recognising that our workforce is our most valuable asset.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Degree or appropriate equivalent level of experience or clinical qualification.
  • Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Experience of working in CQC or equivalent registered services such as HMIP.
  • Experience of client management or meeting commissioner expectations.
  • Experience developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience

  • Experience in secure environments providing healthcare services.
  • Ability to work within a structured, regulated setting and address the unique challenges of secure settings.

Additional criteria

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Legal right to work in the UK; employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
