We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Head of Healthcare to join our team working across HMP New Hall and HMP Askham Grange. HMP New Hall is a closed‑category prison and HMP Askham Grange is an open prison, both for females.

Hours

This is a part‑time role working 18.75 hours per week. We are looking for someone to work between Monday and Friday, with specific hours to be discussed at interview.

The position offers an annual salary of up to £55,944 per annum on a full‑time equivalent basis, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding evidence‑based care to patients by seeking, listening to, and acting on feedback so that patient engagement is at the centre of service delivery.
  • Deliver day‑to‑day operational service delivery and data with integrity in a timely manner to meet commissioner expectations.
  • Deliver non‑judgemental, compassionate care within the financial framework that is safe, high quality, and in line with CQC requirements.
  • Achieve adherence to policies and procedures and compliance with statutory responsibilities while driving excellence.
  • Inspire trust and excellence in the staff by proactively leading the service, motivating the team, recognising that our workforce is a valuable asset, and ensuring key stakeholders that we provide a service people can trust, feel safe in, and feel proud of.

Qualifications

  • Degree or appropriate equivalent level of experience or clinical qualification
  • Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Experience working within CQC or equivalent registered services such as HMIP
  • Experience of client management or meeting commissioner expectations
  • Experience developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
