Overview

Pre-Construction Project Manager – Aberdeen – Main Contractor

We are currently working with a well-established main contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Pre-Construction Project Manager to join their team in Aberdeen.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor with a strong pipeline of government and private sector projects across the North East. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting projects from pre-construction through to delivery, ensuring programmes, resources and project teams are fully aligned before work begins on site.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients, customers and design teams throughout the pre-construction phase
  • Work closely with the commercial team to support financial reporting and project forecasting
  • Develop and manage project programmes and monitor progress against key milestones
  • Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments and safety plans
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations as Principal Contractor
  • Support the selection and management of subcontractors and define scopes of work
  • Coordinate materials, labour and design information to maintain project timelines
  • Provide leadership and support to site teams and project personnel
  • Chair subcontractor meetings and attend client and design team meetings
  • Identify and report potential contractual or commercial risks
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards

About You

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within a main contractor environment
  • Experience working on major construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of pre-construction planning and programme development
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders including clients, consultants and subcontractors
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Good commercial awareness and ability to manage project risks

Qualifications & Requirements

  • SMSTS (5 Day)
  • First Aid at Work
  • CSCS Manager’s Card
  • Fire Marshal training (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and CDM regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
