Joining Arup
Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.
The Opportunity
We are hiring talented senior project managers to join our Programme and Project Management team to support ongoing workload and ambitious growth plans in Birmingham and Nottingham. Our team members work across a wide variety of projects in healthcare, higher education, government and property, contributing to the growth and enhancement of the Midlands.
These roles offer opportunities to develop your skills, working closely with senior colleagues in project and programme management and advisory roles for both public and private sector clients.
Is this role right for you?

You will build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, lead coordination with multidisciplinary teams across Arup and partner organisations, and track and manage scope changes, risks and issues, escalating complex matters as needed.
You will also lead day‑to‑day contract management activities such as change management, early warnings and risk management, documentation and reporting, invoicing and payments, and support the establishment and operation of project control systems, including cost, schedule, risk and performance reporting.
Requirements
- A relevant degree qualification in a relevant discipline and membership or interest in pursuing professional chartership.
- Relevant experience in a project management role on capital projects, with a background in supporting and mentoring junior colleagues on project management activities.
- Demonstrable project management knowledge, commercial awareness and a motivation to support line reports in developing their project management skills.
- Knowledge and experience of managing NEC and/or JCT contract forms.
- Experience utilising contract administration software such as CEMAR or FastDraft.
