Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Quality Engineer to join a leading organisation based in Cornwall. This is a key site-based role, ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment while also taking ownership as a technical support lead to drive quality excellence across operations.
The Role
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that quality issues onsite are identified, managed, and resolved efficiently and effectively. You will act as the go‑to technical expert for quality‑related challenges, working closely with cross‑functional teams to maintain high standards and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the investigation and resolution of onsite quality issues, ensuring timely and effective outcomes
- Act as a technical support lead for quality matters across the site
- Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve product and process quality
- Support audits (internal and external) and ensure compliance with relevant standards
- Analyse quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Mentor and support junior team members where required
About You:
- Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong hands‑on approach with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on the ground
- Experience leading or supporting technical quality activities onsite
- Solid understanding of quality tools and methodologies (e.g. 8D, FMEA, root cause analysis)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a site‑based, fast‑paced environment
