About the role

Balfour Beatty is looking for a Works Supervisor to join our Power Transmission and Distribution team, based in Fort Augustus.

This role includes a 13‑week Upskilling Programme designed to accelerate your professional growth and equip you with the latest industry competencies.

Hours: 45 per week. Flexible work away from home is required.

This role is aimed at those with a little to some experience in a construction environment; we are open to various industries.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Project Manager/Project Engineer, you will be accountable for successful project delivery. Your responsibilities include:

  • Planning of subcontracted works and setting subcontractors to work
  • Assisting in planning and delivery of the overall and wider works programme
  • Monitoring of works and ensuring documentation is in place for work activities
  • Ensuring works are delivered efficiently and safely
  • Supervising small teams, including subcontractors
  • Developing key skills in leadership, planning, incident response and stakeholder communication as part of the structured training program

Who we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in any construction role or environment
  • Experience in implementing safe systems of work
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to build relationships at all levels and influence effectively
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under high pressure with a flexible attitude
  • Ideally holds CSCS and SSSTS or equivalent
  • Valid UK driving licence
