The Role
This apprenticeship provides an excellent opportunity to begin a career within the mechanical and building services industry. As a Heating Engineer Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced engineers on projects across Scotland, gaining hands‑on experience while completing your formal training.
You will learn how to install, maintain, and commission heating and mechanical systems in a variety of environments, developing the practical skills and technical knowledge required to become a qualified Heating Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced engineers with the installation of heating and mechanical systems
- Support maintenance and servicing of heating equipment and pipework
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Assist with testing and commissioning of systems
- Maintain safe working practices and follow company health and safety procedures
- Attend college or training provider as part of the apprenticeship programme
- Develop practical skills and technical knowledge through on‑site experience

- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme
- Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
