We are a value business, focused on making gyms and fitness accessible to as many people as possible. Data is at the heart of how we run our business, starting from where to open our gyms, through what we offer within them, to how we engage with past, current, and future members. Combining the data from our 2.5+ million members with data about locations, operations, and performance allows us to unlock industry leading insights and drive a better member experience and commercial performance.

As an Insights Analyst you will be at the heart of solving some of the hardest data challenges in the business, turning data into insights and business value through a combination of in-depth analysis and reporting creation. You will be leveraging one of the biggest fitness data assets in the world, and working with state‑of‑the‑art technologies, to help determine what drives member behaviour and commercial outcomes across all our operating geographies.

The Role

As a small, agile team, Insights works closely with its stakeholders, putting data at the heart of decision making across the business. While reporting to the Insights Manager, in this role you get to work closely with stakeholders at all levels across the business. You will also work in close collaboration with the wider Insights & Analytics functions, which provides ample opportunity to learn from a group of talented and experienced Data Scientists and Data Engineers.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work on business-critical analytics projects and reporting, identifying outcomes and communicating findings and recommendations to stakeholders across the business – Commercial, Finance, Operational and Marketing teams, in addition to Data Science and Data Engineering.
  • Build and maintain the central data product serving KPIs and insights to the entire organisation.
  • Work with Azure Databricks, PowerBI and dbt technology, leveraging modern cloud‑native technologies and data lakehouse architecture.
  • Drive continuous improvement to how we enable data driven decision making in PureGym.

The Person

We would expect some or all of the following:

  • Experience in data analytics / insights
  • Proficient with SQL, Power BI, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Additionally, experience with dbt would be an advantage
  • A drive to turn insights into compelling stories for stakeholders to understand, for them to make more effective, data‑led decisions
  • Strong commercial awareness with an interest in B2C

We are looking for an ambitious individual with a passion for leveraging analytics to drive business outcomes. The following core attributes are essential:

  • Excellent problem‑solving: someone who enjoys applying their mind to many and varied business problems and be a driving force behind solving them
  • Innovative and curious: constantly seek to learn and find new and better ways of doing things; not just solving problems but seeking them out; always interested to find new and better methods and technologies
  • Biased towards action: take the initiative and get things done under their own steam and in collaboration with others
  • Collaborative: driven to engage with colleagues from across the business and support and enable your team members
  • A great communicator: able to translate complex concepts and analyses into digestible recommendations that can be easily interpreted and acted upon

PureGym is proud to be an equal opportunities employer. Our company mantra is 'Everybody Welcome' and we are dedicated to promoting a diverse and inclusive place to work. From a hiring standpoint, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to ensuring that our PureGym colleagues reflect the diversity of the nation as well as our millions of gym members we serve.

Please note: Qualifications and Skills represent the essential criteria for the role, which need to be met to be offered an interview under the Disability Confident Scheme. Volume of eligible applications may impact everyone being able to be offered an interview.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the advert may be withdrawn at any time. Early application is encouraged.
