Clinical Project Manager – ICU Sepsis Study – Strong budget management experience
Upsilon Global are seeking an experienced Project Manager for a pivotal ongoing ICU study involving patients with sepsis based in the UK. This is a crucial project and one that requires a PM with strong study budget experience, organisational skills and experience in reigniting under-performing projects.
You’ll be working closely with the global head of operations and local/regional teams to mitigate existing issues and drive the study to success, as well as collaborating with the commercial/finance team to manage study budget and reporting effectively.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership and organisational skills to have a major impact in identifying issues and proactively addressing them to deliver successful change.

FTE: Up to 0.5 FTE depending on country selection and site numbers

Key duties:
Helping/training the internal PMs on;
Project expectations
Risk management/awareness (forward thinking/risk awareness/quality by design)
Project finances (margins, burn rates, costs, internal fixed costs vs PTCs and general study budget management)
ICH-GCP guidelines (focus on E6, R3)
Background and experience:
Strong study budget experience including;
Internal fixed fee management – burn and scope management
PT management (sites, vendors, other)
Ability to understand (not necessarily update) study budget tool algorithms and mapping
Site cost management – planned vs actuals; accruals, invoiced, paid, reconciliation with study budget, etc
Change Order management (including directing budget team on what to update and why)
Negotiations with clients
Scope management
Process alignment
Experience with budget reconciliations (eg planned vs actual + expected units/spend)
Strong excel skills
Experience working with commercial/budgets team and ability to take full accountability for the budget management and steps within, and not rely on other departments to drive the process.
Strong organisational skills
Ability to proactively identify gaps in processes, drive process improvements, expand on best practices, etc.
Ability/experience to proactively create study tools and processes if needed and not currently within our scope (nothing complex, but can not rely 100% on internal solutions)
Must have a ‘let’s make it happen’ attitude
Strong leadership skills
PMs to be fully accountable for the delivery and quality of their study.
Must be a “driver”, autonomous and a leader
Experience with taking on an underperforming project and mitigating existing issues to success
Experience
Infectious disease experience essential
ICU and/or sepsis study experience highly beneficial
Small-mid size CRO experience
Experience working on a multi-centre study
This role would be well suited to an experienced PM with a background in training and development of junior colleagues.
