The University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) NHS Trust is one of the largest health providers in the UK, serving a population of 3 million people across Staffordshire and Stoke‑on‑Trent. With a workforce of over 11,000 staff and 1,450 inpatient beds, UHNM offers emergency and planned care, acting as a Major Trauma Centre for the North Midlands and North Wales.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Finance Business Partner to join the financial management team and support one of the Care Groups with day‑to‑day financial management duties.
Interview Information
Interviews will be held face‑to‑face on Tuesday, 28 April and will include a work exercise on site. Please do not apply if you cannot attend this date in person.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with departmental managers, Clinical Business Unit managers and Care Group managers to set budgets within Trust‑wide parameters, and maintain/review them in line with Trust SFIs and other policies.
- Create and interpret monthly financial reports to provide accurate information for decision‑making.
- Support individual budget holders in analysis, maintenance, and control of budgets, including cost improvement schemes and investigation of variances.
- Produce monthly reports for the Care Group, including forecast information for income and expenditure.
- Prepare complete monthly financial reports that reflect all known information about each budget at that point in time, such as accruals, stock takes, in‑year savings or service‑delivery changes.
Qualifications
- Relevant professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, etc.) and a completed application to become chartered.
- Experience working in a financial management environment and with financial accounting systems.
- Exposure to finance within the NHS is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
