Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Operations project controls reviews of complex projects, demonstrating expertise in cost management, scheduling, and performance measurement
- Work with project teams in reviewing cost and schedule baselines using advanced knowledge of drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Undertake detailed project reviews of project cost and schedule systems; prepare and present data‑driven analyses and reports to senior leadership
- Conduct comprehensive performance measurement, cost trending, and variance analysis of projects and support teams in proactively identifying project risks; prepare monthly project performance reports with actionable insights
- Assume lead Operations responsibility for monthly production of C0, C1 and identified project risk reports relating to cost and schedule forecasting, resourcing and corrective actions aligned with project timelines.
- Identify change order opportunities with the Project Teams and support delay negotiations with contractors, demonstrating assertive leadership and transparent communication
- Oversee the development and implementation of project controls procedures and best practices to enhance efficiency and consistency
- Prepare and contribute to various levels of project reporting, including monthly status reports and executive summaries
- Utilize advanced knowledge of construction contracting and contract types to effectively implement and customize project controls systems
- Monitor performance trends, analyze cost impacts, and provide recommendations for process improvements and risk mitigation
- Participate actively in commercial management discussions, adding strategic value and analytical rigor to decision‑making processes
- Provide risk and commercial advice during the bid and project lifecycle to assess performance and provide support to the business, project, and market sector leadership.
- Conduct lessons learned reviews to identify lessons learned and disseminate as appropriate.
- Ensure changes are managed rigorously with a focus on commercial implications of change, manage commercial risk and opportunity generally.
- Ensure that activities meet both internal company standards and external regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 8‑10 years of experience in project controls, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead through influence at senior levels
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
