About the role

A welcoming and inclusive SEND school in Peterborough, dedicated to supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional needs. The school focuses on delivering personalised education that nurtures academic progress, independence, and emotional wellbeing. Through small class sizes, adapted teaching approaches, and a supportive environment, pupils are encouraged to build confidence and achieve meaningful outcomes. This role is available on a full-time basis, and to start in the new academic year.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated, engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND, ensuring all learners can access the curriculum.




• Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using this information to adapt teaching strategies and support individual learning plans.




• Create a structured, inclusive classroom environment that supports both learning and emotional wellbeing, promoting independence and positive engagement.




• Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each pupil’s development.

Pre-requisites

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching children or young people with SEND.




• Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs and the ability to adapt teaching to meet individual learning styles and needs.




• Confidence in managing behaviour positively, using strategies that support emotional regulation and engagement in learning.




• A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach, with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs to reach their full potential.
