We are seeking an enthusiastic and confident Project Manager to join our North, Scotland, and Northern Ireland practice, based from the Belfast office, who wants to take the next step in their career and take responsibility for projects from inception to completion. You may be an Assistant Project Manager or already have experience of delivering some projects from inception to completion. Whilst some working from our client offices or other AtkinsRéalis offices may be required, our advanced agile working practices will enable you to work from home and different locations with ease. We also have strong growth across our wider Rail and Aviation sectors. You are likely to have several years of multi‑disciplinary project delivery experience, ideally within a consultancy environment and with some experience of working in the water industry. Working with the support of the PDP team, you will be responsible for delivering schemes to budget and programme through RIBA Stages 0‑7 or the sector equivalent and be the main point of contact with our clients on these projects.

  • Communicating, liaising, and managing the client on a project‑by‑project basis; delivering projects within corporate and business policies, directives, guidance, and procedures.
  • Managing the project within client and AtkinsRéalis budgets. Risk management of the project from inception through to completion.
  • Administering and negotiating change control from inception through to completion.
  • Managing the procurement and analysis process.
  • Monitoring and reporting performance against programme, technical quality, financial and KPI targets. Mentoring and developing assistant project managers and other team members as required.

About You

  • Ideally with a Project Management/Engineering/Building Surveying/Architectural background, with design management, project management and contract administration experience (JCT/NEC and/or bespoke forms of contract).
  • Some experience of projects or assisting the management of projects from inception to completion (RIBA Stages 0‑7 or equivalent).
  • Experience of working close to multi‑disciplinary design teams. Strong client‑facing and customer service skills. Ability to lead a delivery team in a positive and confident manner. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Sound business acumen and strong risk/commercial awareness to deliver profits. Experience of managing the constructor procurement process.
  • Proven project management skills with a sound knowledge of construction.
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office suite and MS Project.
  • An aptitude towards work winning through strong service delivery. Understanding of BIM.
  • The ability to make decisions, act on your own initiative, and demonstrate a proactive and flexible working attitude. Current driving licence.
