Quality Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to support the delivery of a major civil engineering project in Banbury. The role is quality assurance-focused with a strong emphasis on documentation, technical review, and collaboration with delivery teams. Duration: 6 months rolling, effectively 2 years of work. Rate: £400‑£450/day DOE. IR35: Inside via umbrella company.

Responsibilities

• Review ITPs and quality check sheets, ensuring they are completed accurately.
• Manage and close out Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Deliver technical briefings to site teams.
• Carry out root cause analysis and support implementation of corrective actions.
• Proactively chase site teams, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of all required paperwork.
• Undertake quality inspections and site visits where required.

Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Quality Engineer / Handover Engineer.
• A background working for a main contractor on heavy civils or major projects.
• Proven experience producing ITPs and quality packs within an infrastructure environment.
• Excellent technical understanding, document control, and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise directly with site teams.
• Must be IT literate.
