Job Description:

Job Title: Mid–Senior Level Data Analyst (Finance & Data Science)

Location: Hybrid – 4 days onsite (Victoria, London) & 1 day remote

I’m working with an exciting fintech startup that is redefining travel and loyalty spending through innovative debit card solutions. The business is at a stage where data-driven insights are critical to growth, and they are seeking a mid-to-senior level Data Analyst to join their Finance & Data Science team.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys solving real-world business problems and turning complex data into actionable insights. You will work across finance, product, marketing, and operations to influence key decisions. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as you will regularly present findings to senior leadership and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse large, complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities that impact revenue, cost, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with finance, product, operations, and marketing teams to deliver commercially-driven insights.
  • Translate business questions into analytical solutions using SQL, Python, or R, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualisations using BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Metabase, QuickSight) to enable teams to self-serve insights.
  • Work with data engineers on data modelling and orchestration pipelines using DBT and Airflow.
  • Present insights clearly to senior stakeholders and non-technical audiences using compelling data storytelling.
  • Monitor and improve the performance of analytics solutions over time.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis with strong commercial impact — able to influence business decisions.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with data modelling and orchestration tools: DBT and Airflow.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and BI/visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, Metabase, QuickSight).
  • Experience working with data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex analyses to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with fintech or start-up environments.
  • Exposure to Agile or cross-functional team environments.
  • Experience deploying or maintaining analytics solutions in production.

Why This Role Is Exciting

  • Join a small but growing mid-to-senior level team, helping shape how data drives commercial decisions.
  • High exposure to senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Work on high-impact projects that directly influence revenue, cost, and operational efficiency.
  • Competitive salary, equity plan, private healthcare, and 25 days holiday.
