Hard Services Manager

Job Title: Hard Services Manager Location: North of England (multi-site) Salary: £55,000 + benefits

Overview

Our client is seeking a Hard Services Manager to lead Hard FM operations across a portfolio of commercial buildings. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance, statutory compliance, and overall operational performance across multiple sites, including regular travel to North Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee PPM and reactive maintenance across all sites
• Ensure CAFM systems (e.g. Planet FM) are accurate and up to date
• Conduct audits, compliance checks, and quality reviews
• Lead and develop on-site maintenance teams
• Manage contractors and third-party suppliers
• Control budgets, track spend, and ensure value for money
• Provide technical support on building systems (HVAC, alarms, plumbing)
• Ensure full statutory and contractual compliance
• Produce reports in line with QMS standards

Requirements

• HNC/HND or Degree in Building Services, Engineering, or FM
• City & Guilds in Mechanical or Electrical discipline
• Strong technical FM background in commercial environments
• Knowledge of compliance (H&S, fire, building regulations)
• Experience with CAFM systems and asset management
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Additional Information

• 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
• Participation in on-call rota (3rd line support)
• Occasional weekend flexibility required
