Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust hosts one of the UK’s largest research portfolios, collaborating with QMUL, Barts Life Sciences, the North East London Commercial Research Delivery Centre (NEL CRDC), and industry partners. The ATTC programme drives innovation, delivering cutting-edge treatments, including gene and cell therapies. We are seeking a motivated Advanced Therapy Research Project Manager to support the ATTC programme at Barts Health and QMUL. The ATTC Network is a world-first NHS initiative addressing the challenges of bringing advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) to patients.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to national advanced therapy capability, accelerate clinical trials, and work alongside leading clinicians, academics, industry partners, and national research bodies. You will play a key role in the set-up, management, and delivery of ATMP trials, coordinating studies, ensuring milestones are met, and preparing project plans, scopes, documentation, and risk-management strategies. You will collaborate with colleagues across Barts Health, QMUL, NEL CRDC, ATTC partners, and industry, coordinating feasibility discussions, supporting Scientific Advisory Group presentations, maintaining monitoring tools, and managing project data securely. Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of ATMP trials across organisations, ensuring efficient setup and delivery of clinical trial operations.
  • Identify projects across organisations and national working groups; support the ATTC Clinical Trial Acceleration workstream.
  • Coordinate feasibility discussions, monitor milestones, and manage project data securely.
  • Oversee budget and assist with approvals for studies in collaboration with HTA colleagues, JRMO, and QMUL to ensure smooth delivery of trials.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, scopes, and risk-management strategies; identify potential future opportunities to add value to funding streams.
  • Engage with clinical, non-clinical, and research support staff within Barts Health, QMUL, and external bodies; support Scientific Advisory Group presentations.

  • Extensive relevant and recent project management experience at a senior level within the NHS or similar organisation
  • Fully aware of the principles of research governance
  • Experience of formally presenting information to large groups of people
  • A track record of implementing and managing projects and change
  • Extensive experience of appropriate project software
  • Experience of SLAs and contractual working
  • Experience of working across large multidisciplinary teams
