Overview
This role provides financial analysis, reporting and commercial support to Finance Business Partners, Practice Groups and the wider Finance function.
Team
You will work within the Finance team, supporting FP&A, Working Capital, and Finance Business Partners. The team partners closely with Practice Groups, BD, HR and other core business areas to provide insight, improve financial performance and enable informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Analysis Support: Assist in preparing the annual budget by gathering baseline data, updating templates, validating inputs and ensuring accuracy. Support forecast processes through data extraction, variance analysis and preparation of summary reports. Produce regular performance updates for Finance Business Partners and FP&A, highlighting key movements, risks and opportunities. Support the review of forecasting assumptions through data checks, historical trend analysis and post-implementation analysis.
- Performance Management & Reporting: Prepare first-level analysis of key performance indicators (utilisation, realisation, staffing ratios, working capital metrics). Support deeper profitability and portfolio analysis for partners or client groups. Identify and flag emerging performance issues based on data trends. Assist in preparing commentary packs, dashboards and supporting schedules for leadership meetings. Maintain and update financial models and reporting processes, driving continuous improvement.
- Business Support: Act as a day-to-day contact for routine financial queries from practice groups. Contribute analysis to support recommendations on income growth, margin improvement and process efficiency. Support data gathering for people-related processes such as workforce planning and headcount analytics. Contribute to scenario models and basic business case analysis for key initiatives.
- Working Capital: Partner with the working capital team to monitor aged WIP/debt and support resolution of issues. Assist in identifying potential budget risks related to working-capital performance. Support matter-level reporting, identification of billing opportunities and general financial housekeeping.
- Commercial Support: Help with pricing analysis, rate card updates and simple profitability models for client proposals. Assist in monitoring pricing performance and highlighting clients where pricing or rate uplift discussions may be appropriate. Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support BD activity and client relationship management.

Qualifications & Skills
- Studying towards ACCA / ACA / CIMA, or equivalent experience in an analytical finance role.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to present financial information clearly (written and verbal).
- Confident working with data and comfortable challenging anomalies.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills; confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn.
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is an advantage.
- Exposure to a broad range of financial disciplines across FP&A, commercial finance, pricing and working capital.
- Close partnership with senior stakeholders and opportunity to influence business performance.
- Development opportunities suitable for someone progressing toward professional qualification.
