A leading regional Main Contractor is looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to join their delivery team in Luton. The company delivers a mix of education, healthcare, commercial, industrial, community and refurbishment projects, typically valued £5m-£15m. This is a permanent, full‑time role with strong long‑term development and excellent job security.

The Role – Project Manager
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering 2-3 live projects at any one time, ensuring successful delivery across programme, quality, health & safety, subcontractor management and client communication. This is a site‑based delivery role suitable for someone who enjoys being hands‑on, leading teams and solving technical or programme challenges in real time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects through pre‑construction, delivery and handover
- Lead daily site operations, ensuring programme, safety and quality standards
- Coordinate subcontractors, design teams and commercial teams
- Chair progress meetings and provide clear updates to clients and stakeholders
- Produce and manage short‑term programmes and logistics planning
- Oversee sequencing, risk management and issue resolution
- Ensure full compliance with specifications, drawings and client requirements
- Build strong working relationships with clients and consultants
- Work closely with design and commercial teams to maintain progress and cost control
Hours & Working Pattern
- Full‑time, Monday to Friday
- Office and site‑based (no hybrid working)
- Hours: 8.30am – 5.00pm (1‑hour lunch)
About You
- Experience as a Project Manager, Site Manager or Senior Site Manager
- Strong understanding of construction delivery and subcontractor coordination
- Comfortable managing multiple live projects
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Enjoys being on site and solving day‑to‑day challenges
- Backgrounds suited: Main Contractor, Design & Build, PM Consultancy, Site Engineering
Salary & Benefits
